We matched display of 2018 with business for Meiji Restoration 150 years and displayed series of all four times that featured the theme of "Meiji Restoration and Saga". We introduced Saga until 1883 (Meiji 16) when current prefectural level established after merger, separation from establishment of prefectures in place of feudal domains in 1871 (Meiji 4) to Mizuma prefecture (mizumaken) and Nagasaki while the making of modern country by the change new government was pushed forward from the Edo era to the Meiji era in series (1).

In October, 1867 (Keio 3), Edo Shogunate 15th charges general, Yoshinobu Tokugawa said Restoration of the Imperial rule and returned the government to the Imperial Court.
In January, 1869 (Meiji 2), each feudal lord of Satsuma, Choshu, Tosa, Hizen offered that we returned land (version) and the people (the family register) of feudal clan to the Imperial Court. Afterwards, feudal clans of the whole country performed return of the land and people from the feudal lords to the Emperor, and old feudal lord became chihanji (feudal clan the Governer).
In July, 1871 (Meiji 4), Imperial rescript of establishment of prefectures in place of feudal domains was given, and 302 prefectures of 3 prefectures were born in the whole country, and unification was carried out for 72 prefectures of 3 prefectures in November of the year.

Six prefectures of Izuhara (Izuhara), Saga, Hasuike, Koshiro, Kashima, Karatsu where it became integrate with the prefecture by establishment of prefectures in place of feudal domains from feudal clan by November, 1871, and it is in Imari prefecture. The prefectural authorities were placed in Imari, but because most of thing and government official located at the west end of the prefecture lived around current Saga-shi, they moved the prefectural office to Saga in May, 1872 because they were inconvenient and were renamed to Saga.
The rule by person from old Saga feudal clan continued, but, in July, 1873, Michitoshi Iwamura of person from other prefectures was appointed by kenrei (the later prefectural governor) and carried out centralized reform. In this way, antipathy to the government of citizen of the prefecture increased.
In December, 1873, family with samurai antecedents in favor of seikanron formed seikanto in Saga. On the other hand, family with samurai antecedents in support of the system of feudal age forms patriotism party in January in the next year. The government was cautious of anti-government-like movement of Saga who was old barony of the first degree.
They are from Saga, and Shinpei Eto of the former Councilor and Yoshitake Shima of the former Akita right law come back to control accidental discharge of family with samurai antecedents. However, island led seikanto and family with samurai antecedents of patriotism party in February, 1874 and fought against Eto who resisted this, but beat and left and was executed as the government did to deploy the suppression forces, and to bring under control by military power.

There was threatening movement in family with samurai antecedents after revolt (Saga War) of Saga in Saga and was thought with one of the intractable prefectures. By merging the intractable prefecture with nearby prefectures, the government interrupted bygone feudal clan family with samurai antecedents and ties of the prefectural office and was going to strengthen control power of the government for the prefecture.
Saga was annexed in Mizuma prefecture (mizumaken) in April, 1876, but they were transferred sequentially to Nagasaki, and, in August of the year, Mizuma prefecture was abolished, and all former Saga levels were annexed to Nagasaki. Exercise to bring back Saga in 1882 happened and independently separated from Nagasaki in May in the next year, and it was in current Saga area.
